Beginning in 2012, ALA's Community Challenge Weekend will now be known as Community Connection.  Although the name has changed, the mission remains the same: to encourage ALA chapters, its members, firms, vendors, relatives and friends to come together to contribute time, energy and resources toward improving their own communities.

SCALA's 2012 Community Connection project is a year-long, state-wide food drive to benefit our local communities!  Members, guests, and Business Partners are encouraged to bring food items to each meeting and gathering to be donated to Harvest Hope of Columbia and Greenville and to Lowcountry Food Bank of Charleston.  Business Partners also participate by donating items at the Business Partner Sponsors Appreciation Event.  SCALA has also made financial contributions to all three statewide food bank organizations.
